I've been practicing massage and bodywork since 2001. My love of traveling and being exposed to innovative ideas and different cultures influences my approach to massage and the healing arts. In my experience, touch is an integral part of community and a gateway to a deeper connectedness and awareness. Over the years, I’ve learned how important spiritual and energy medicine is to supporting clients in their healing process.
I'm grateful to live in South Seattle and enjoy gardening at home, watching documentaries, spending time with the animals, Lilu cat and walking Tapiwa dog. I treasure time in wild nature, wild foraging for personal and professional medicinal uses and being with the ocean.
Additional formal areas of study: Certified Innate Traditions Postnatal Care practitioner, Certified ATMAT® practitioner focusing on conception, pregnancy and postnatal phases, craniosacral, visceral manipulation, reiki, healing touch, lomi lomi, hot stones, and reflexology. Independent studies: wildcrafting plants as medicine, grounded magic of raw gemstones, botanicals, spiritual nutrition, health, conscious eating.
The name Root Down fell into my lap during a meditation. A gentle reminder to hear with my heart and find my roots. To reconnect with my calling so that I may be present for other's in need. There are many avenues to feeling good, to feeling better and to welcome presence. I'm honored to share my work, continual professional study and self care tools to embrace our shadow side and reawaken the inner wisdom we all carry at our core.
“Sadness gives depth. Happiness gives height. Sadness gives roots. Happiness gives branches. Happiness is like a tree going into the sky, and sadness is like the roots going down into the womb of the earth. Both are needed, and the higher a tree goes, the deeper it goes, simultaneously. The bigger the tree, the bigger will be its roots. In fact, it is always in proportion. That’s its balance.”
“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.”
